Securing a High-leg Delta Connection with the S6-GC-30K-LV-US

Solis’s S6-GC-30K-LV-US is capable of a 240V High-leg Delta connection, but this connection requires specific steps in terms of execution and implementation in order to be successful. Please find below a summary of basic, additional steps that will be required in securing a high-side connection.

Note: See the larger conductor on the AC input side on the L2 or B phase below. This is where the high side is connected.

Please ensure the software is up to date. 

HMI software: C701 DSP software: 5906

After updating the software: Then select the grid standard stating 240V (UL-240L)

Important:

• The latest software (mentioned above) is compatible with both high-side and non- high-side inverters.
• When you select a 208-volt grid code, the machine will automatically adjust the voltages for non-high-side units.
• Similarly, when you select a 240-volt grid code, it will automatically adjust the voltages for high-leg configurations.
• Pay attention to the Neutral wire connection. Please make sure that the neutral wire is NOT connected to the inverters for a proper 240V High Leg operation. If connected, it will cause erroneous measurement issues. If the neutral wire is already run to the inverter wire box, it has to be disconnected and removed from the wire box.
• If the neutral wire is left disconnected inside the wire box, it must be carefully taped for insulation and secured.

Software Updates:

• Preferred Method: Connect the machine to the Solis Cloud for software updates as needed.
• Alternative Method (Low Service Areas): In areas with limited or no internet connectivity, we will provide an update stick and the correct software to manually update the machine. Please contact Solis Technical Support for assistance.

4-Step Summary:

1. Update Software: Connect to Solis Cloud for automatic updates or use the provided update stick if necessary.
2. Select Grid Standard: After updating, choose the 240V grid standard (UL-240L) in the settings.
3. Connect High Side: Connect the high side to the L2 or B phase, which has the larger conductor on the AC input side.
4. Neutral wire: should be disconnected and insulated.
