Output Power

Within the Advanced Settings menu is a submenu called "Power Control". In this menu there are two settings that can be adjusted: Output Power and Power Factor.

Output Power is the amount of energy that the inverter is allowed to generate (output). This value is adjusted based on a percentage. At 100% the inverter will produce whatever the nameplate rating is at most. For example, a 100K inverter will product 100K maximum. At 90% then the 100K will produce 90K maximum. This value can be increased beyond 100% as well. 

Changing the Output Power for Solis inverters (except the RHI-1P(5-10)K-HVES-5G series)

1. Press Enter > Go to Advanced Settings and then press Enter

2. Go to Power Control and then press Enter

3. Use the down button to highlight "Out_P with Restore" and then press Enter

4. This value (%) determines how much energy the system will produce: 100% is full nameplate rating

5. To achieve a different output, divide how much you want the system to produce by the nameplate rating of the inverter (for example: if you want a 100K inverter to produce 95K then you would set this to 95%)

6. With the desired output percentage adjusted, press Enter to save the change to output power

Changing the Output Power for the RHI-1P(5-10)K-HVES-5G series 

The Output Power menu for the Solis RHI-1P(5-10)K-HVES-5G-US inverter is in a different place from other Solis inverter series. After selecting Advanced Settings the password should instead be 2017 - press Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up, Up, Up (x7 Ups) then Enter.  The Output Power setting can be found within "Power Control". You must turn Backflow Power to OFF first in order for the output power to remain adjusted. 

Power Factor

Power Factor is a measure of the phase difference between the AC voltage and current. If the voltage and current have no phase difference then we call this "unity power factor". Inductive and capacitive loads will cause the current to "lead" ahead ir "lag" behind the voltage, this creates a non-unity power factor. Reactive power is measured in "vars" while apparent power is measured in volt-amperes (VA). The reactive power is the "phase angle" between active power and apparent power. 

Solis inverters allow the Power Factor to be adjusted. This setting is found in the "Power Control" sub-menu of Advanced Settings. Be sure to adjust "Rea_P with Restore" so that the changes stay saved.
