AC Overcurrent Alarm Troubleshooting

This alarm will occur when one of two things are happening:

1. The critical loads are attempting to draw too much current through the backup system

2. There is an outlet constantly tripping on one of the critical loads circuits

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Too much energy demand from the critical loads circuits

    a. The critical loads supply breaker should be 25A

    b. If the breaker is larger than 25A then this alarm will occur whenever the critical loads are demanding more than 25A

    c. Change the breaker to 25A or reduce the amount of energy demand from the critical loads

Note: Reducing the demand is the only way to ensure this alarm does not occur again

2. Tripping outlet on one of the critical loads circuits

    a. When there is a faulty or over overloaded outlet [that is consistently tripping] on one of the critical loads circuits, the AC Overcurrent alarm will be displayed

    b. Locate the faulty outlet and then replace it with a new one

    c. If the outlet is simply overloaded, then reduce the amount of current being drawn through it
